Powerful and strange synth-orientated pop group of the early eighties
NessieScots Wha Hae1982LPNessie 399BelgiumVG++/Msold
Antwerp-based folkgroup Nessie made pleasant albums of symphonic rock highlighting flute and synthesizers. This record has English lyrics and is still quite obsure. Could be a good choice for those who like Flyte, Prelude and Dragon.
New BeatTake 1 - AB Sessions1988LPAntler Subway 034BelgiumM/EX6 €
Belgium hooked into the international house-craze of the late 1980's in a unique way : by developing an own brand of house, called New Beat. This monotonous discotheque dance-music, powered by a slow and heavy beat, combined the new elements of house-music with elements which existed in Belgian music for a number of years. These were the industrial and underground electrowave bands like Front 242, Poesie Noire, A Split Second and The Neon Judgement.

The Neon Judgement1981-19841984LPScarfaceBelgiumVG++/VG++15 €
Since the early eighties, The Neon Judgement are a household name in the alternative scene in Belgium and abroad. Operating from Leuven and inspired by the likes of Suicide, Wire & Cabaret Voltaire, they start in the early eighties. Their initial music is aggressive, danceable and dominated by synthesizers and drum-machines. A bit later on in their career the guitar also gets a prominent place in their music.

EXTREMELY RARE GERMAN ISSUE ON WHITE LABEL STUDIO PRESSING? YOU'LL NEVER FIND THIS RECORD AGAIN!!! IT'S NOT EVEN MENTIONNED IN THEIR CATALOGUE!!! Together with that other Belgian band Front 242 they are considered as pioneers for the genre which became known as Electronic Body Music, or Electrowave. This genre was also indirectly responsible for the New Beat-dance music in 1988. The Neon Judgement were constantly on the move, ranging their music from new-wave to gothic to industrial to techno. Mostly well ahead of their time and always flatly refusing to go for cheap commercial success. Band members : - Dirk DaDavo (echte naam Dirk Timmermans)(vocals, keyboards) - TB Frank (echte naam Frank Vloeberghs)(keyboards, vocals, guitar)
